My household item that I will be grading is my wooden computer desk that I use as both a working and gaming station. The knowledge that made the creation of this item possible is primarily architectural; without a great plan and design for this table, it would never have been made or structured the amazing way that it is. In addition, two other processes that are important to the creation of this item are: knowing how to gather the right pieces of wood and make them the right size and shapes; and the importance of making water resistant glue to join all of the pieces together in a permanent bond.
I will be grading the item on a scale of 0-5 based on these 5 categories: 1. Durability, the table needs to be extremely durable to withstand the weight of all the items being placed on it. 2. Cost, the table should be reasonable and not overpriced. 3. Size, it needs to fit a tight available space of only 40 inches wide. 4. Design, the design of the table must be made to support two monitors, a desktop and at least one compartment. 5. Quality, the material used should not be scratched or damaged. The scale will be measured where 0 means extremely bad and 5 means amazing.
The first category being graded is durability. On the durability scale I give the item a 5 because this table is very strong, supporting on top 2 monitors, a desktop, keyboard and mouse, and other items such as phones, controllers, water bottles, and loads of notebooks and papers. Not once has this table given me problems with how durable it is.
The second category being graded is the quality. The table was made with an appealing cinnamon cherry wood and metal, without any scratches in the wood or colors wearing off the metal. I give the table a 5 in the quality category.
The third category being graded is size. I give the scale category a 4. I give it a 4 because even though there is only a tight space available for the table I am impressed by how this amazing table with its well designed structure could fit in the 40 inch space, using up only 38 inches. It fit exactly where I needed it to go in width but still caused me to move nearby objects due to its height.
The fourth category being graded is design. I give the design a 5, due to its slide-out keyboard tray, elevated monitor shelf for my second monitor, dedicated storage for the desktop to be placed in, and lastly a hidden door compartment to store things in. The design made the table a comfortable working station for me.
The final category is cost. I find the cost to be the most impressive out of the 5 categories because of how well the design, quality, and durability work in this table. While it is excellent in these categories I find the price to be remarkable at only $83.59. When I bought it, I felt this was a great price for what I was getting in the purchase of this item.
In conclusion, this table is an amazing item overall, exceeding in all the categories and being almost perfect for what I was looking for when I tried to purchase a table. This table has allowed me to work in a comfortable and orderly way.
